Application at packing adds only a few seconds per unit. Inspection at return, in most cases, drops from minutes to seconds. The net effect on warehouse throughput is positive.
Larger warehouses running multiple shifts see the biggest efficiency gains because consistency across shifts is where subjective judgement previously created the most rework.
